GBAC STAR™ accreditation is an international certification program managed by the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a division of the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA), which promotes operational standards on cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention protocols at facilities.
This accreditation is granted when a facility’s manuals on cleaning, disinfection, infectious disease prevention programs, and other hygiene measures established by the facility meet the guidelines on international hygiene standards established by GBAC in cooperation with experts.

AKASAKA INTERCITY Conference Center has implemented comprehensive infection prevention measures, such as applying antiviral coatings to fixtures and equipment throughout all venues, conducting regular disinfection, and ensuring the availability of infection prevention supplies. Through this accreditation program, it was confirmed that the roles and responsibilities of staff for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention, which are established by the facility’s operations department, are being sufficiently fulfilled in line with the accreditation standards set forth by GBAC. Furthermore, the facility’s various cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention measures were shown to be reliable and safe under international standards.
