Personal Information Protection Policy Pertaining to Financial Instrument Transactions

Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") considers it our important social responsibility to protect and properly manage our customers' personal information and has established our Personal Information Protection Policy as described below. The Company will protect personal information and handle it properly in accordance with this policy. It should be noted that personal information under this policy excludes the Individual Number and the Specific Personal Information stipulated in the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in the Administrative Procedure and the Company shall handle Individual Number and the Specific Personal Information properly in compliance with the Fundamental Policy for Managing Specific Personal Information established separately.

The Company shall abide by the Act on the Protection of Personal Infomation (Act No. 57 enacted in 2003) and other relevant ordinances and internal rules and regulations pertaining to the protection of personal information and strive to properly handle personal information and manage the same safely and securely. Moreover, the Company shall review this policy continuously to further enhance the protection of personal information in light of changes in the public perception of personal information, the progress of information technology (IT) and others.

For your information, when a request is received from an individual, the Company will cease using the relevant personal data voluntarily.

[Handling of Personal Information]

  1. Acquisition and use of personal information
    The Company shall acquire our customers' personal information by legitimate means. It shall also disclose, notify and clearly specify the purpose of use and shall not handle personal information in any way that exceeds the scope of the purpose of use without the person's consent unless otherwise provided for by laws and regulations.
  2. The purpose of using personal information
    The Company shall use our customers' personal information for the following purposes:
    1. To conduct financial instrument transactions, intermediation or agency services thereof.
    2. To research on assets and real estate rental operations to conduct financial instrument transactions, intermediation or agency services thereof and accumulate and analyze data to identify the implementation status of said businesses.
    3. To allow a special-purpose company to conduct the real estate rental business and identify the implementation status of said business and to accumulate and analyze data on the same.
    4. To request expert advice on financial instrument transactions services and incidental services by the Company.
    5. For business administration of the Company and the group.
    6. To conduct sales activities to meet the purposes in the respective clauses given above, such as contacting, solicitation, information provision by mail, e-mail or telephone or sales calls.
    7. To provide personal information to third parties in the scope required to fulfill the purposes in the respective clauses given above.
      In addition to the above, the Company may use properly obtained personal information from real estate registers, registered land figures, commercial registers, credit bureaus and other properly/legitimately disclosed sources for the purposes given in the above clauses from a. to e.
  3. Provision of personal information to third parties
    1. The Company shall not provide personal information without the person's prior consent to a third party unless otherwise provided by laws and regulations and excluding cases set forth in the following clause b ,or where it is conducted within the scope required to fulfill the purposes of use.
    2. The Company may provide personal information to third parties within the scope required to fulfill the purposes of use in the aforementioned clause 2. In this case, the items shall be provided within the necessary scope, such as the person's name, organization and division, title, address, telephone number, e-mail address and real estate information, verbally, in writing, by mail or in electronic form etc.
  4. Security Control
    1. Measures for safe management of personal information
      The Company shall take the necessary and appropriate measures to manage our customers' personal information properly and carefully to prevent it from being illegally accessed, lost, falsified or leaked.
  5. Outsourcing for handling personal information
    The Company may entrust a third party to handle our customers' information. In this case, the Company promises to take adequate measures to protect personal information and supervise the outsourcee as required.

    The Company shall respond to your complaint or concern about personal information as swiftly and sincerely as possible.       If you request disclosure, you must pay fees of 1,080 yen (including taxes) along with the actual postage of 512 yen.
